Dallas, TX, April 13, 2018 –(PR.com)– Dallas Academy of Music and Performing Arts (DAMPA) Conservatory and Academics Program welcomes Robyn Henderson Keller as new artistic director. Keller, a Dallas native and former professional ballet dancer, will lead the new Pre-Professional Ballet Program, designed for ballet students who are pursuing their dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Keller has been training students for 24 years in numerous levels, such as pre-professional, pre-pointe, pointe technique and recreational ballet.
From age 6, Keller trained at a variety of prestigious dance schools, including Dallas Ballet Academy, Etgen-Atkinson School of Ballet and The School of American Ballet (official school for the New York City Ballet). Keller’s professional dance career began upon her completion of Pacific Northwest Ballet’s year-round program (for which she received a full scholarship) at age 19. Throughout her career, she toured internationally in places such as Japan, Taiwan, New York, Chicago, the Kennedy Center and various cities throughout Texas.
“I’m beyond excited to be a part of this organization that embraces both music and the performing arts. There’s truly something for everyone here! The Pre-Professional Ballet Day Program at DAMPA is unique in the sense that it offers students from all around DFW an extension to their current training at their respective studios. We work with students and their directors to enhance improvement in a personalized fashion,” says Keller.
The Pre-Professional Ballet Program at DAMPA is tailored for aspiring professional dancers (ages 13+) looking for rigorous, high-level, intensive ballet training. The curriculum of this year-round, five-days-per-week program also covers audition preparation, pilates and piano training. Students will practice ballet technique to live piano accompaniment to polish their musicality. Master classes led by special guest professional artists allow students to receive real-world insight into the industry and guidance on maximizing their opportunities in the professional world of dance.
DAMPA also collaborates with iUniversity Prep to provide students a flexible, quality academic schedule so students can complete their education and train in the arts, all in one location.
